The Bloody Song

So, So. The Word Period is still being whispered. Because there’s blood, there’s crime, there’s sin?Appreciate the new found effort to make it sound like ‘Hey, it’s a Normal Thing’. Glad. Glad There’s acceptance. But How much? Whether part of it or whole of it? Well, this is not one of the ‘Educating’ about Period Piece. This is a collection of BEAUTIFUL Thirteen-Year-olds and their Bloody Struggle. I Would like to call it ‘The Bloody Song’ or ‘Awkward Hide it from the boys moments ‘.

One Fine Day in School

A bunch of strangers drop in

Fancy covers in hand

The early teens were called in

Nah, not the boys, just the girl

Shhhh. It’s a secret.

Let us not share it with the boys

Or so we were told.

It was the bloody company

And their fancy Hygiene and

Educating the girl child promotion stunt

But the fancy cover of goodies

nevertheless was cute

But we had to hide.

Hide it from the creepy boys

 and their awkward giggles

So Breathe, the day is over.

Rose didn’t turn out the next day

Or the day after and then the whole of next week

Ah, so she hit puberty or so we thought

She had stories to tell on her return

Secret Santa stories

But Hush Hush, the boys can hear.

It was the Jasmine the week after

And Lilly the next week

We had more stories to listen

Just another fun day

But Lilly had terrible cramps

Poor kid, she was asked to woman up

Probably the worst thing a teacher could say

Oh Dear, you can’t withstand this pain,

There’s so much in your life to see !

Yes, like what ? Giving Birth Ma’am ?

Thanks for the kindness.

Another day Another Drama

Lotus stained her dress

We check for logistics, White or Grey

Grey, sigh relief ! White, hell no!

Next, Small spots or large,

We had white chalks to cover the small spots

Daisy had Larger spots, sorry bigger sin.

You got to go home.

Coz there were 17-year-old who would giggle

Or so we were told.

We used a different stair to run, hide and sneak

Jasmine had escorts to cover her stained Dress

You think we wouldn’t have got a Piece of Mind

Hell yes! We Did.

Oh Dear, how could you be so careless

Thanks Ma’am, you just forgot the overflow days

Thanks for the kindness.

It was Tulip’s turn

She forgot her napkin

Checked the bench for stains

Hush Hush goes the rounds

Thanks for pockets or Fashion

We had a place to hide

We know a milli second better than anyone

Coz that’s how quicky the napkin flies

from the bag to the pockets

Or the boys would giggle

Or so we were told.

P.S. And a lot more of these moments that i can't recollect. But how I wish there was much education about this to both the Gender, Equally.

What big a deal, you may ask. “Quite big a deal that a dear friend of mine wouldn’t let me sit on her furniture in her home because there was blood, there was crime and there was sin”.

Oh, and a lot more like that.
